The Source is washing its hands of the Tim Dog controversy . The increasingly bizarre story of his death was spearheaded by the publication which has abandoned the report amid claims that the whole thing is an elaborate scheme for the allegedly deceased to get out of paying back $2 million in debts. 

A writer for Noisey did some investigating into the man born Timothy Blair’s whereabouts, but couldn’t seem to find him. There was however correspondence with two women he scammed, and a coroner in Atlanta–the last known city the “F-ck Compton” rapper is said to have lived– all of whom gave potential proof of the rumored hoax.

What’s more, an employee at the Source (speaking under the condition of anonymity) confirmed that the outlet’s original story breaking news of Tim Dog’s death was untrue. With no corner’s statement or details into his alleged passing by way of a seizure, speculation over its validity was loud enough for the story to be removed from its website. “After several weeks of things going on, he went back to the office and told us that the guy was hiding or something,” the employee said of the author. “I don’t know what happened–some financial or legal issues. From there, you know. They’re looking for him.”

The staffer also responded “I can’t tell you that,” when asked why the story was removed.

Meanwhile, Source writer Sha Be Allah who penned the original death announcement side-stepped the controversy maintaining that he has no loyalty in the situation. “I don’t know that motherf—er. Make sure you print that,” he said.

According to Sha the death information came from a “family member” and one of Tim’s “close friends,” which is why he didn’t dig deeper.

“As a journalist, if you hear somebody died you just wanna make sure somebody else said it too and it’s not just something you heard. When ODB died I didn’t go looking for a death certificate.”

Not looking for a death certificate is one thing, but leaving out official details is another. When putting together similar stories its customary for reporters to pull statements from a corner’s office or police report, family member, friends, and others. None of which was done by the Source, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the company knowingly participated in any wrongdoing.

In speaking with the women Tim was indebted to, Noisey thinly veiled the motivation to potentially disappear. He scammed one woman, Esther Pilgrim, out of $20,000, which he was ordered to pay back in $100 monthly increments. “He set me up on a fictitious business deal to invest in a 5-CD box set,” she explained. “I had a son who was starting college and I was concerned about having enough money to pay for it.”

He later pleaded guilty to grand larceny was given probation time, and made payments up until news of his “passing.”

Another woman, Danielle Sellhorst of Holland was also tricked. The two met on Myspace in 2006, and Sellhorst was eventually coerced into giving him money and her credit, to start a business that “didn’t exist.” They worked together for six months, making preparations, selling tickets, and booking venues for what turned out to be a fictitious Black male exotic dancer European tour. “Everything was in my name,” Sellhorst said. “Three months before the show, he said on the phone, ‘Did you really think there was a show?’ I was having second thoughts. I was asking him questions, I was printing out emails and recording conversations. He was feeling that I wasn’t trusting him anymore. That made him nervous. He said, ‘I could care less what happens to you,’ and left me with all of the bills and all of the troubles. The cops were coming after me. People who had bought tickets to the show were coming after me. He gave them my address, my everything.”

In Dec. 2009, Tim Dog left a message threatening Sellhorst for trying to “hurt” his company, and vowed to strike first. “I will hurt you before you hurt me.”

Dead or alive, the rappers has a warrant out for his arrest.”In the eye of the law, until he is proven dead, they have to treat him as if he is alive,” Pilgrim pointed out.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s alleged crack smoking scandal doesn’t appear to be going in anywhere anytime soon, which may point to why he released a statement denying the claims Friday (May 24). Ford asserts that he’s not addicted to crack cocaine, nor does he smoke the drug.

A drug dealer reportedly shopped a video around of Ford getting high, and tried to sell the recording to the Toronto Star, and Gawker.com.  So far the footage has not been released. ”I do not use crack cocaine, nor am I an addict of crack cocaine,” the politician said in front the media, but took no questions.

Ford’s crack scandal may already be taking a toll on his day job. He fired Chief of Staff  Mark Towhey yesterday without giving an explanation. Towhey was escorted out of City Hall by security only revealing that he was pink slipped versus stepping down from his post.

As he said when news of the report first broke, Ford believes that he’s just being picked on by the press. ”It is most unfortunate, very unfortunate, that my colleagues and the great people of this city have been exposed to the fact that I’ve been judged by the media without any evidence.”

His excuse hasn’t killed the skepticism.

“I don’t believe the mayor,” City Councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker said.  ”He should resign and then go seek help.”

Revealing the erratic behavior he’s seen Ford display, Baeremaeker believes the mayor is “imploding,” and needs to face facts. ”The mayor had an opportunity to acknowledge that perhaps he does have a problem, and to take a leave of absence, perhaps to take care of himself and his family, instead he went on the attack.”

Ford has a history of acting inappropriately, and has made news for it since being elected in 2010. He was fired from his high school football coaching job Wednesday (May 22), earlier in the year the 43-year-old was asked to leave a gala because he was said to be drunk, and during his campaign bid, he refuted claims of a 1999 kush-related DUI arrest.

To help fully expose Ford, Gawker.com has turned to the public to raise money  and purchase the tape. The site is looking to get $200,000 from donations to buy the video which it will publish. They’ve raised $90,000 so far.

Ludacris flooded the Internets with a weekly installment of new music through his #IDGAFFridays series, and returns today with a full offering called #IDGAF.

The mixtape stands at 10 tracks, and compiles each of his previous Friday releases. Luda also included a record we heard a snippet of a song that caused a stir last year called “Mad Fo,” featuring Meek Mill, Chris Brown, Swizz Beatz, and Pusha T.

The G.O.O.D. Music representer takes the title to heart in the closing verse, and delivers a blatant diss towards YMCMB’s frontman Lil Wayne. ”You got to blame Swizz,” said Pusha in a 2012 interview. “See, when Wayne got a Swizz beat with the ‘Ghoulish’ track, he got busy; well, he tried to.” The rhymes may be old, but we’re sure those words sting just the same.

French Montana, Young Jeezy and Mac Miller round out the guest appearances. #IDGAF should whet appetites until Luda releases his forthcoming LP Ludaversal, due out later this year.

One big difference between Hannibal and other procedurals or crime-based dramas is that the writers take great care in providing unique serial killer motifs. Whether it’s a human mushroom garden, using body parts for musical instrument strings or as a gourmet dish, every case that Jack and Will investigate is extraordinary. The case in “Trou Normand” was over-the-top bizarre and artistic in the creepiest of ways.

Human Totem Pole

What? Yes, a totem pole created with a puzzle of body parts. Will used his ability to recount the crime scene. The serial killer carefully worked to display his literally “body of work.” His last victim was forced to watch as he finished his creation.

The killer then stabbed the last victim and added him to the top of his masterpiece. The deceased was positioned with his legs wrapped over his back and embracing the face. The totem pole was raised and left it to be found and admired. The killer left his legacy on that beach.

The totem pole was created with 17 bodies. Six were found on the beach and the remainder were dug up out of their graves. Most of the deceased were thought to have died of natural causes, but Will maintained that they were all murdered and he was correct.

The killer left clues that led the investigation right to him. The first kill, Fletcher Marshall, was from 1973 and that decedent was the father of the most recent victim, Joel Summers. From there they tracked down the killer who was waiting for them in his living room.

The killer thrived on murdering his victims anonymously without drawing any attention to their deaths, but he knew. He attended the funerals, befriended the loved ones all the while knowing and being exhilarated by the fact he was responsible for their death.

With not enough money for a decent retirement home, he was ready to come clean and secure his legacy. Prison would be a step up from his current life. He had an affair with Fletcher’s wife and that’s why he killed him. Though, what he didn’t know was that his last victim, Joel, was actually his son.

And, even though he wanted to be caught, he was forced to deal with the truth of what he did when he was told, “You didn’t secure your legacy, you destroyed it.” His son was not only raised thinking a dead man was his father instead of him, but he killed his own son.

Will’s Continued Deterioration

When Will left the beach crime scene, he went into an other black out that lasted a three hour drive from West Virginia to Hannibal’s office. Will came to sitting in the doctor’s office. Hannibal questioned Will about why he didn’t quit when Jack gave him the chance. 

Hannibal said that Will was suffering from self-induced abuse. The doctor warned Will, ”I don’t want you to wake and see a totem of your own making.” Will just dismissed him.

Will went to see Jack and asked if he noticed anything wrong with him when he was at the beach. Jack denied that he noticed anything. Will said that he was fine, but his face displayed just the opposite. Why didn’t Jack push him for the truth? Why is Jack so determined to use him even if it risks his health?

In his classroom, Will was in another disassociated state when Alana shows up. He apologized for kissing her and she revealed that she does have feelings for him. She can’t and won’t act on them though, because of Will’s conditions. She tells him, ”I think you are unstable. And, until that changes I can only be your friend.”

She hugs him and Will embraces her back tightly. He desperately needs something to hold on to and she may be able to cure him with her caring and concern.

Abigail Comes Clean

Abigail continued to struggle with what happened to her. She had a nightmare about all the girls that were killed so that she could live. Why did her father want to kill her? She wasn’t given an answer and that haunts her. She also struggles over killing Boyle.

She met with Freddie about collaborating on a book about her story. Freddie told her that she had no money, since the victims sued for her father’s money. And, writing a book would get her truths out there.

Hannibal and Will were upset that Abigail would betray their trust and tell their story too. Since Hannibal knows about Boyle, he used that to discretely threaten her from doing the book. 

In response, Abigail dug up Boyle’s body so it would be found and she would no longer have his death hanging over her and in her nightmares. Jack tried to get the truth out of her, but she brilliantly lied her way through the examination.

Hannibal’s infiltration in the group and their trust of him was highlighted when Alana said, “”Any reservations I have about Abigail don’t extend to Hannibal.” He lied and covered up the event, which put Abigail in the clear … for now at least.

Abigail’s trust in Hannibal has been unwavering even when he continually manipulated her into leaving the book behind. She finally had to come clear and talk to someone about the truth and she exposed the terrible truth. She helped her father find the girls.

Just like she killed Boyle, she helped her father in self-defense of sorts. She confessed, ”It was them or me.” She believes she’s a monster and Hannibal tried to dispel that. He reassured her, “I know what monsters look like. You were a victim. Will and I will protect you.” And, they hugged.

Hannibal Pulls Will In

In one of Will’s nightmares, he had a vision of Boyle’s death. With knowledge of how he was killed, Will was able to put the pieces together and realized that Abigail did kill him. He confronted Hannibal about what happened that night.

Hannibal immediately admitted the truth and that he helped bury the body. Will ridiculed his ability to hid the body. Hannibal asked whether Will talked to Jack already and starting grabbing for a small knife on his desk.

When will replied that he hadn’t told Jack anything because he hoped it wasn’t true, Hannibal went with another approach. He went up to Will and used a personal touch to bring them on the same side.

Hannibal was able to convince Will to keep the secret for Abigail’s sake. Even though Will could disclose the secret, it was a big win for Hannibal. It created a bond between the two men that the doctor has been craving. 

Hannibal, Will, and Abigail are bonded together through the secret and the killings of Tobias, Boyles, and Hobbes. Now, Hannibal and Will are Abigail’s two fathers. A triumvirate was created of killers and a common secret.

Tim Westwood went in the vault to unearth some classic footage of Kanye West freestyling on his show back in 2005. The video shows the Louis Vuitton Don rapping off the top of the dome for a well over 10 minutes. He briefly spits a few recognizable lines from Late Registration, which gives the inclination that this predates his second studio LP. 

West raps on a few of his beats including The Game’s “Dreams,” Jay-Z’s “Encore,” and Common’s “The Corner.” Funny how each those are now considered classics, but at the time it was just Yeezy kicking rhymes overs some of his most recent work.

Freestyles from the G.O.O.D. Music head honcho come far and in between these days. Luckily, fans will have the opportunity to hear new material from West on his forthcoming album, Yeezus, due out June 18. He performed two songs from the project called “New Slaves” and “Black Skinhead” on Saturday Night Live last weekend. This was after he premiered the former on 66 buildings across the world the prior evening.

Bill Cosby blames “that gun” for Trayvon Martin’s death in February — forget racism or self-defense.

“I’m a person who believes that that gun, that gun, all around this United States — when a person has a gun sometimes their mind clicks that this thing is, it will win arguments and straighten people out, and then in the wrong hands and the wrong mind, it’s death,” he said on CNN in an interview that aired Sunday.

He said he wasn’t talking about having a gun for self-defense in the home, but made the point “that when you tell me that you’re going to protect the neighborhood that I live in, I don’t want you to have a gun.

“I want you to be able to see something, report it, and get out of the way. … I don’t want you to get hurt, and I don’t want to hurt anyone.”

Deciding racism is involved in a situation — Cosby never mentioned George Zimmerman by name — doesn’t solve anything, he said. If a person is scared to death, whether he’s a racist matters little if he’s carrying a firearm at the time, Cosby said.

The stand-up comic beloved for his well-known routines as well as his turn on “The Cosby Show” lost his son Ennis Cosby to gun violence in January 1997. Mikael Markhasev was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing the 27-year-old during a holdup while Ennis was fixing a flat tire near a freeway offramp.

Martin, 17, was fatally shot by Zimmerman while walking to his father’s house from a nearby convenience store. The 28-year-old neighborhood watch volunteer had called police to report Martin as a suspicious person and followed him. After Martin’s death in a fight that ensued, Zimmerman claimed self-defense.

After national outrage over the local police department’s allegedly insufficient investigation of the crime and failure to make an arrest, Zimmerman was booked into jail last Wednesday on second-degree murder charges brought by a special prosecutor assigned to the case.

Chief Keef needs guidance. Yesterday, Katy Perry tweeted about being dismayed at hearing Sosa’s “Hate Bein’ Sober” on the radio. The 17-year-old Chicago rapper has responded in kind today (May 23) by telling her to “s-ck his d-ck.” 

Actually, it was bit more gratuitous than that. “Dat b-tch Katy Perry Can Suck Skin Off Of my D-ck,” read his tweet.

But the “I Don’t Like” rapper wasn’t done.  ”Ill Smack The Sh-t out her\,” he added.

Yesterday, Perry tweeted, “Just heard a new song on the radio called “I hate being sober” I now have serious doubt for the world.” Definitely not cool if you’re a Chief Keef acolyte, but certainly not worthy of physical threats.

We would could act like we’re shocked at such behavior, but who are we kidding? This is the same guy that posted a pic of a chick giving him sloppy toppy on his Instagram and was just arrested for puffing kush in his hotel room.

So at this point, what’s it going to take to get Keef to adjust his behavior? If the feminists rally behind this (he threatened a Pop star, that’s not going to go over well) and say, start pressuring his label to drop him, maybe he’ll realize the err of his ways. Rappers always switch up when something starts affecting their cash flow, ask Rick Ross and Lil Wayne.

The fact that soon enough we will see a rap song with the words “Katy Perry Dis” shows how coontastic this all is.
